The uber liberal community organizing group MoveOn.org held a tea party-style event outside of Senator Marco Rubio’s Miami office to protest the Senator’s ‘Nay’ position on raising the out of control debt ceiling. Senator Rubio was in Washington, D.C. voting at the exact same time the protest was being held. The vote to raise the debt ceiling passed the House of Representatives yesterday and then breezed through the Senate-President Obama quickly signed the measure without any delay.
As I spoke to the group of about 12 MoveOn.orgers, the same talking points were rehashed as to how bigger government is better and that the rich should be taxed- no news on that front. The group’s organizer, Maria Baeza reiterated the point that MoveOn believes that government is part of the solution, not part of the problem. Interesting video.
