Karen Harrington Signs Cut, Cap, and Balance Pledge
Pembroke Pines, FL, (July 18, 2011)— Republican congressional candidate Karen Harrington has signed the Cut, Cap, and Balance Pledge, an affirmative commitment to enact immediate and substantial spending cuts in FY 2012, place a statutory cap on future spending by Congress, and work towards the enactment of a Balanced Budget amendment to the U.S. Constitution that will ultimately be sent to the states for ratification.
“As the owner and operator of a family-run restaurant establishment that has always practiced strict fiscal discipline and met our financial obligations, I am pleased to sign the Cut, Cap, and Balance Pledge. Our nation can no longer continue its egregious spending and enormous deficits that ultimately will end in default,” said Karen Harrington, candidate for Congress in Florida’s 20th Congressional District.
“Our federal government has added 35% to our nation’s debt in the last 30 months, a completely unsustainable fiscal path. The enactment of this pledge will not only ensure that our government lives within its means, it will be the basis for strong future economic growth and job creation, which is why this pledge has my full commitment and support.”
