Former Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse CEO Craig Miller is yet another entrant into the already crowded Republican field of senatorial candidates in the 2012 Florida GOP primary, the winner of which will face off against Democrat Senator Bill Nelson.
At the Hillsborough County Republican Party picnic on Saturday, Miller sat down with me to discuss why he decided to enter a crowded field as well as state his support for the E-Verify measure that will help curb the problem of illegal immigration. Miller also stated that existing Federal immigration laws need to be respected as well as enforced. Miller fell short in his run for Congress in 2010 against now Congresswoman Sandy Adams.
During the the 2010 primary, Miller was asked whether he supported a comprehensive immigration plan put forth by one of his competitors who had questioned for Miller receiving praise for his illegal immigration position from the racist, pro-illegal immigration Hispanic organization La Raza. The Karen Diebel for Congress campaign put out a paid political advertisement depicting the support Miller received from La Raza, including a picture of Miller taken with the President of La Raza.
