The Florida Republican Senatorial primary is now in full stride, as all of the major candidates have announced at least one fundraising quarter and are actively campaigning across the state for support. Last Monday evening, Senate candidate Colonel Mike McCalister (RET) spoke to the Southwest Broward Republican Organization (SWBRO) in Pembroke Pines to win the support of the club’s membership. McCalister is competing for this club’s support most directly with Adam Hasner, as both candidates have made strong pitches to a club that is one of the most conservative in Broward County.
McCalister’s talk revealed the seven pillars of his campaign strategy before articulating how he felt about the Democratic Party and Senator Bill Nelson’s attempt to retain his U.S. Senate seat. During his Q&A session, a patron of the club asked him whether or not he was concerned about fundraising, since McCalister was the only candidate in the race that has not posted his fundraising numbers.
