Recent criticisms of U.S. Senate candidate Adam Hasner have asserted that the former House Majority Leader was once a supporter of Cap and Trade legislation, citing his support for a bill that he and Senator Marco Rubio championed back in 2008. During a recent a sit down interview that I had with Hasner, the Senatorial candidate emphatically stated that he is not in favor of a Cap and Trade policy, nor has he ever supported such a measure.Hasner also explained why he drove around in an electric car (I am still scratching my head about that), a gimmicky type of public relations play that communicated the message to his constituents that Hasner was ‘enviro-friendly’.
Hasner segued his response on electric cars right into energy independence, stating that he was proud of his record on offshore oil drilling and his support for exploration of other domestic sources of energy.
