The 2012 Florida Senate Race continues to ramp up as potential candidates make the political rounds as they gauge their prospects for a chance to face-off with Democrat Senator Bill Nelson in the 2012 general election. Former U.S. Senator George LeMieux, who has been on a speaking blitz of late is very close to making a formal announcement- thus confirming my shark-sense that the LeMieux’s announcement could come any day.Senator LeMieux spoke on a slew of issues but focused on the one issue that has been grabbing its share headlines of late- the National Debt. While in the Senate, Senator LeMieux introduced a Balanced Budget/Line-Item Veto Amendment to the U.S. Constitution in the hope that it would be voted into law in order to help head off the coming debt crisis. Now, LeMieux is proposing that the Government go back to 2007 “across the board” spending levels in order to bring down the debt.
LeMieux also agreed with Senator Marco Rubio on Social Security, saying that the age limit for eligibility to receive Social Security benefits needs to be increased. LeMieux warned people under 50 years of age that they will probably have to get ‘means tested’ to receive ‘adequate’ retirement benefits.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
” People under 50,we are going to have to work longer, we are going to have to extend the retirement age”-Senator George LeMieux
