Governor Rick Scott took some time out of his busy morning to talk about the status of his proposed 700,000/7 years job plan, the cornerstone of his Gubernatorial campaign in 2010. When I asked the Governor if his jobs plan was on track, Scott said that, “we are going to get there” by adding that businesses have already begun to to make the move to Florida by mentioning the fact that California-based Bing Energy, Inc., is moving to Tallahassee.
Scott also addressed the need for fiscal restraint and downsizing of government due to the economic downturn that Florida as well as the country finds itself in. In keeping with a campaign promise, Governor Scott has been flying across the state in his own plane (as well as paying for aircraft fuel at his own expense) and meeting with state leaders and activists about the pressing issues that the state faces as well as the individual concerns those same leaders and activists have. Scott also commended RPOF Chairman Bitner for his leadership and believes him to be “a very hard worker” and that will continue to do well. Bitner has also changed the way the RPOF Chairman spends donor money by flying commercial and flying coach, to boot.
