Governor-elect Rick Scott wrapped up his statewide jobs tour by visiting the Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute in Orlando Florida. Scott held a jobs town hall meeting at the institute to discuss job creation with professionals in the medical and healthcare industries. The Gov was given a sort of ‘hands on’ tour of the facilities where he was briefed on the Medical Institiute’s targeted studies and research. Sanford-Burnham primarily focuses on Diabetes and Cancer research, but does dabble in other aspects of medical research like obesity, which is linked to Diabetes and cardiovascular disease research.
