Because Florida relies very heavily on its tourism heavily for both job creation and revenue, Governor Scott saw it prudent to continue his jobs tour across the state and meet with local business leaders aboard Royal Carribbean Cruiselines’ ‘Navigator of the Seas’ in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Governor Scott is so far making good on his promise to reach out to the people and get their opinions as to what is needed to create, “jobs, jobs, jobs”, and attract new businesses to Florida.
The gaming industry has long wanted to ‘flush’ its bets into Florida, but the industry has met resistance from concerned citizens and legislators who have voiced their concerns about the social ‘cons’ that gambling brings with it. As it stands right now, only the Seminole Indian Tribe of Florida operates casino gambling on its reservations.
