Indiatlantic councilwoman Lori Halbert is mounting a serious primary challenge against incumbent Rep. John Tobia in the Florida House District 31 race. Halbert has quickly amassed substantial community support and is running a very aggressive grassroots campaign in the district, complete with her signature yellow signage that is prevalent throughout the district. Representative Tobia has come under increased scrutiny of late stemming from an ethics complaint that was filed against him regarding certain dubious campaign-related activities.
