Charlie Crist is a politician’s politician. It’s apparent to any honest observer of Florida’s political scene that Crist stands for little beyond self-interest, political opportunism, and extended sessions in his tanning bed. Now that Crist has fully divorced himself from the Party that made his career possible, he is scurrying to find new political allies to keep his political career from visiting the proverbial graveyard. Fortunately for Charlie, he’s found some brand new supporters in Broward County that are all too willing to pimp themselves out for him while they turn the cold shoulder to their disillusioned Democrat constituents.
Broward Property Appraiser Lori Parrish and State Representative Ari Porth are getting on board with the Crist for Senate campaign as they host a fundraiser for Crist later this week– yet another slap in the face of the probable Democrat nominee, Kendrick Meek.
Here is Porth’s tortured rationalization as to why he’s come out of the closet for Crist:

However, I also do not want to see somebody as right wing as Mr. Rubio jeopardize my rights and other peoples’ rights by getting elected. I guess that means I’m a Democrat and a realist.”
Yes, of course you’re a “good Democrat”, Representative Porth, we can only wonder if Kendrick Meek would agree with your assessment. But just what ‘rights’ do you believe Marco Rubio would ‘jeopardize’ if he were elected? Your right as an elected official to continue unsustainable deficit spending?? Your right as an elected official to impose a government takeover of healthcare on an unwilling citizenry?? We’ve tried to contact Rep. Porth to pin him down on what ‘rights’ he’s referring to, but we’re smelling some serious BS here.
The bottom line is that there is no ideological political group- conservatives, Republicans, Democrats, liberals, progressives, whatever – that can rely on Charlie Crist’s support on any one issue beyond the length of a political campaign. The only identifiable constituency that will gravitate towards Charlie are the usual players who glom on to any politician, opportunists who aren’t concerned about good governance so much as they are with remaining in the good graces of political cronies so they can advance their own personal agendas.Barrack Obama once wrote that “”I serve as a blank screen on which people of vastly different political stripes project their own views.” That duplicitous characterization also applies to Charlie Crist. The difference between the two is that as Obama is a radical leftist ideologue, Crist has no underlying governing philosophy, which makes his views on the issues always subject to change.
