Sandy Adamsis a wife, mother, law enforcement officer and servant of the people of central Florida. She personally understands the struggles many Floridians are facing in these tough economic times and is committed to fight for those concerns. Sandy experienced personal hardships as a young adult and struggled as a single mother to finish college and support her young daughter. She persevered with honor. Both she and her daughter are proud college graduates. Sandy served her community for 17 years as Deputy Sheriff in Orange County before running and being elected to the Florida State Legislature in 2002. Today, she and her husband, John, reside in Orlando and are the proud parents of three children. Sandy’s Conservative Track Record in the Florida House: After winning her first election to the Florida House of Representatives in 2002, Sandy was tapped to Chair Homeland Security Workers’ Compensation workgroup. Within her first two years in the House of Representatives Sandy served as Chair of the Seminole County Legislative Delegation. Over the next couple of years Sandy served as Chair of the Orange County Legislative Delegation and is currently the Chair of the Seminole County Legislative Delegation once more. Sandy’s current committee assignments are Chair of the Criminal and Civil Justice Appropriations Committee, Vice-Chair of the Criminal and Civil Justice Policy Council, Vice-Chair of the Public Safety and Domestic Security Policy Committee and Vice-Chair of the Select Committee on Seminole Indian Compact Review, and she is a member of the Full Appropriations Council on General Government and Health Care and the Rules and Calendar Council.
