When Senator Marco Rubio ran for president against then-candidate Donald Trump, the junior senator from Florida and the real estate mogul did not see eye-to-eye on most issues, or at the very least, how Trump delivered his message.
Since winning re-election to the senate in 2016, Rubio has been working closely with President Trump on a slew of issues, especially on foreign policy and national security. Now Rubio is openly supporting the president’s State of the Union decision reverse President Obama’s campaign promise and presidential agenda to close down the naval prison on Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Trump announced that he signed an executive order to keep the military prison open for business.
President Obama's decision to release terrorists from GTMO and ultimately close it was a dangerous one, and I believe President Trump is right to reverse that decision. I want to know what you think. Do you support keeping Guantanamo Bay open? https://t.co/ZZq4L3ndhX
