Democrat Annette Taddeo has finally won an election.Finally. After several tries at winning just about any elected office she ran for, Taddeo defeated Rep. Jose Felix Diaz (R) in a special election for Florida state Senate seat 40.
While the seat leans Democratic, it was not surprising to see a Democrat win, just not Taddeo, who won by a margin of 51-47 percent.Former Vice President Joe Biden lent his name to Taddeo, but in the end, the former county Democratic Party Chairwoman and Charlie Crist for Governor running mate’s early voting efforts prevailed.
“This is a victory for the residents of Senate District 40. The voters wanted a champion in Tallahassee who will fight for higher paying jobs, affordable healthcare and fully funded public schools and I am honored and humbled that they have placed their faith and trust in me. I pledge to work everyday for the families of my community and not the special interests. I would like to thank my opponent for running in a hard-fought race. Our campaign saw a strong coalition come together between the FDP, the FDLCC, labor and community organizations who unified behind a winning plan. I’m beyond thankful for all the work and their efforts and the the thousands of volunteers who committed their time, energy and resources. This was a community, grassroots driven effort and I am ready to continue the work in our state capitol.”
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)

Calling herself a champion right off the back could be a signal of what type of legislator politicos in Tallahassee will now have to contend with this upcoming legislative session. Republicans still have control of both chambers of the state legislature.
