Former U.S. Representative Joe Garcia was mad when the cameras stopped on Monday night at the end of his first televised debate against Miami Democratic primary opponent Annette Taddeo.
As reported by the Miami Herald, Garcia was angered over what he perceived to as bias against him. He stepped into a hallway just outside the recording studio of Spanish-language state America Te Ve and lashed out very loudly at moderator Felix Guillermo and then later at station manager Miguel Cossio. Two people said they heard Garcia say “comemierda.” That is a common insult usually taken to mean “fool” or “jackass,” thought it literally translates to “s***-eater.”
The exchange only lasted a few minutes, according to the people who heard it, with Garcia unleashing his frustration after a debate he apparently felt did not go well.

Garcia has a history of losing his temper in the political arena.
It did not help him that three times during the debate he mistakenly referred to the moderator as “Ricardo” instead of “Felix.”
Felix Guillermo later told the Herald that the repeated use of “Ricardo” hardly seemed unintentional. He tried to create an uncomfortable environment, but that was it, it didn’t go further from there. He made the same mistake four times. I imagine it wasn’t a mistake, that there was some sort of intention behind it, but I don’t know what it was.
