Even after the first GOP presidential debate of the 2016 campaign cycle, where the Republican long knives came out against Donald Trump, and who many believe he would fall from his leader-in-the-polls status after his performance, “The Donald” still holds an commanding 24% support among Republicans in the latest Reuters/IPSOS poll.
Donald Trump is also not backing down from, nor is he apologizing for the statements he made towards Fox News TV host Megyn Kelly. It is being reported (Trump also tweeted it) that Trump and Fox News boss Roger Ailes got on a call and made nice after the obvious Fox News Debate hit job they did on him.
Roger Ailes just called. He is a great guy & assures me that “Trump” will be treated fairly on @FoxNews. His word is always good!

Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
Both men agreed to start anew, and Ailes assured Trump that his network would treat him “Fair & Balance.”
“We discussed our concerns, and I again expressed my confidence in Megyn Kelly. She is a brilliant journalist and I support her 100 percent,” he added. “I assured him that we will continue to cover this campaign with fairness & balance. We had a blunt but cordial conversation and the air has been cleared.”
On the other hand, Megyn Kelly, like Trump, is standing her ground, and is also not apologizing for the way she treated Trump during the debate.
Kelly stated this on her show regarding her little tiff with Trump:
“You may have heard there was a dust up involving yours truly and presidential contender Donald Trump,” Kelly said at the outset of her program. “Mr. Trump was upset with a question I asked him at the debate last week about his electability and specifically comments he has made in the past about women.”
“A few words on that. “Apparently, Mr. Trump thought the question I asked was unfair and felt I was attacking him. I felt he was asked a tough, but fair question. We agree to disagree.”
“Mr. Trump did interviews over the weekend that attacked me personally. I’ve decided not to respond,” Kelly said.“Mr. Trump is an interesting man who has captured the attention of the electorate. That’s why he is leading in the polls. Trump, who is the frontrunner, will not apologize. And I certainly won’t apologize for doing good journalism,” she added.
“So I’ll continue doing my job without fear or favor,” Kelly concluded. “And Mr. Trump will continue with what has been a successful campaign thus far. This is a tough business and it’s time now to move forward. And now, let’s get back to the news.”
I wonder if Kelly will be inviting Trump to appear on her show anytime soon?
