Miami’s Republican congressional delegation, Senator Marco Rubio and Representatives Ileana Ros-Lehtinen and Mario Diaz-Balart- minus Congressman-elect Carlos Curbelo- held a press conference on Thursday in Ros-Lehtinen’s Miami office to speak out against President Barack Obama’s plans to “normalize” relations with the communist Castro regime in Cuba.
Aside from the members of Congress ripping into Obama for legitimizing Castro’s human rights violations, including the jailing of supposed political prisoners, and murders the regime has committed in the name of Communism, family members of the four “Brothers to the Rescue” members who were shot down by Cuban military jets in 1996, were also in attendance to express their disappointment in the President.Obama is giving oxygen to a criminal and murderous regime. Many fear that the existing political prisoner currently being jailed in Cuba will be murdered, and the oppression on the island will continue, regardless of the gift that President Obama just gave the Castros.

Rubio went on to give a quick history lesson about the rise and fall of dictatorships in the Western Hemisphere, that failed because of the spread of democracy.
