Sarah Palin Comes To The Rescue In Contentious FL GOP Primary Race

State Senator Lizbeth Benacquisto’s congressional campaign woes continue as she is once again dodging another public forum or event. This coming Thursday,  former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin will be in Naples, Florida, with Benacquisto, and will be co-hosting a $500 a person fundraiser to benefit Benacquisto’s campaign, the same night as the League of Women Voters meet-and-greet forum on Sanibel Island.

Benacquisto initially said that she would not be attending the event because of her legislative duties in Tallahassee, Florida, but will now be in the congressional district to host the high-dollar fundraiser with Palin.

Fundraisers generate donations, which fuel campaigns. Everyone understands this, so if an opportunity  to raise big cash with the likes of Sarah Palin presents itself, seize it.

The problem that Benacquisto has is that she originally said that she couldn’t make it because of a conflict with her job as state Senator, but now has apparently been able to deal with that conflict in order to attend the fundraiser, and not the forum.

Benacquisto’s Republican primary opponents, Paige Kreegel, Curt Clawson, and Michael Dreikorn, will all be attending the League of Women forum.

Could Palin’s Southwest Florida visit be enough to salvage Benacquisto’s fledgling campaign, which is said to be low on funds?

Sarah Palin has made herself irrelevant to me.
I wondered briefly in 2008 why she would join the McCain ticket; they seemed to be very opposite in many ways.
I thought she was refreshing, a breath of fresh air.
Then she walked away from her job as governor.
Now she is endorsing the empty pantsuit that is LIzbeth Benaquisto.
As Sarah, we hardly knew ye.

No Javier, Palin will not salvage Lizbeth’s lagging campaign. Instead, she has harmed her own brand with her endorsement and fundraising. By this time, she has had plenty of feedback from Lizbeth’s constituents who have explained how Lizbeth promoted common core, how she raised local taxes while on a city council, and how she is not responsive to her constituents. Many of us have written Lizbeth many times and not gotten the courtesy of even a canned response.

It appears now that the empress Sarah has no clothes.
Sarah has been sucked into the republican establishment. Or maybe she has just returned to her journalism roots which enable them to be willing to ignore the facts to promote their agenda.
She is now irrelevant to me.

      >Sarah has been sucked into the republican establishment.

Agreed. And the most egregious sin that The Establishment has committed is wonderfully documented in Gareth Porter’s new book ‘Manufactured Crisis: the Untold Story of the Iran Nuclear Scare’. Both major parties are under the complete control of fabulously rich israeli interests. America is no longer sovereign. Sadly Javier no longer allows links to be posted, so read Phil Giraldi’s review of Porter’s book by googling the title. An excerpt follows:

‘The United States claims to be a constitutional republic, the oldest one on the planet, but the designation is a joke when the constitution can be ignored at will and laws are flouted. Porter’s book compels one to ask why the political grifters who have been running a rogue nation void of even a shred of normal decency are not only walking around free but are basking in the huge cash windfalls that they have acquired by virtue of being in high office while selling out the interests of the people they are supposed to represent. Some, including Bill Clinton, continue to wield enormous power in the political system even though ex-officio. President Barack Obama ought to develop some regard for the dignity of his office, which he has so abused by abandoning principle and going along with the charade, before either resigning or being impeached. The two Bushes and Clinton should also face the wrath of the Justice Department and of the American people. Gareth Porter demonstrates that they lied and knew they were lying over an issue that could have very well led to a war. There is no higher crime than that.’

We are surprised that Sarah Palin would use her precious time trying to boost Benacquisto’s campaign. Maybe Lisbeth should reconsider attending since her first thought was her legislative duties in Tallahassee, or even the Forum taking place on Sanibel Island. But that probably would be too hot.

The reason I believe Sarah Palin left her job in Alaska? Her enemies filing Ethics Complaints. It is common especially just before campaign elections, your opponents will undoubtedly have their supporters file complaints, and it costs money and time to respond to them, especially if you are a Sarah Palin or Chris Christy. I remember there were several complaints filed, and States need to address this concern. Those who file a complaint need to be brought out into the open with just as much scrutiny as an elected official. Welcome back to Florida, Sarah !!

Yes, the Dems in Alaska hate Sarah and did indeed do this. The same is happening to Gov. Scott Walker of Wisconsin. Walker is made of tougher stuff however and is fighting back and winning. That is what Sarah should have done. I feel it diminished her, at least I don’t hold her in the same regard as I did before, and I’m more the Tea Party type than RINO.

In 2010, Palin did pretty damn well when 18 of her 20 targetted districts lost to the GOPers she endorsed. Why she’d do so little homework and take on a volatile flake like Benaquisto is beyond comprehension. The FL House (& Sen.) are in the meat of their session, but that never stopped a pol from campaigning. LB is ducking exposure and having to reveal her stance on several issues.
