Sen. Ted Cruz Opposes Rubio’s Immigration Proposal

By Javier Manjarres

ted cruzRepublican U.S. Senator Ted Cruz has come out against the new immigration proposal set forth by Senator Marco Rubio and liberal Democrats in the U.S. Senate, a proposal that all but offer amnesty for illegal immigrants in the United States.  Cruz joins his colleague Senator Mike Lee in expressing concerns over Rubio’s “Gang of Eight” amnesty-lite proposal.  Many noteworthy conservatives have criticized Rubio for his immigration ideas including Fox News Contributor Michelle Malkin who had major reservations abouot the proposal.  While many have been praising Rubio of late for his immigration ideas, no one expected Rubio to blind-side them all and jump on board Senator John McCain’s amnesty bandwagon, and this measure is not likely to win Rubio any praise among conservatives.

I appreciate the good work that senators in both parties have put into trying to fix our broken immigration system. There are some good elements in this proposal, especially increasing the resources and manpower to secure our border and also improving and streamlining legal immigration. However, I have deep concerns with the proposed path to citizenship. To allow those who came here illegally to be placed on such a path is both inconsistent with rule of law and profoundly unfair to the millions of legal immigrants who waited years, if not decades, to come to America legally. – Sen. Ted Cruz

Senator Cruz may indeed be right … at least Sen. Rubio has presented a plan. A shocking display of leadership.

First we need to secure our borders (fence) from extreme muslim terrorists AND all other illegals. Let’s ENFORCE the laws we have now.

Rubio is RIGHT! Where is your plan Ted???

Tea Party Voter –E-verify will send ’em home on THEIR dime. No jobs = Bye-Bye. Let’s put our 23 M un-employed Americans back to work!! What’s YOUR plan???

I oppose everyones “reform” proposals for the foreign invaders until after the borders have been totally secured. Once that is done, and only then, should discussions proceed!

Let’s get practical here, fellow conservatives. as long as Obama is president, the borders will never be closed. In the meanwhile millions of illegals are siphoning money from us and giving nothing in return and voting for the likes of Obama. This is not a pure amnesty plan but it does take into consideration the situation we are facing. We cannot ignore the fact that these illegals are here and the Dems, in their own self interest will never vote for anything that will take votes away from them. The status quo is the least acceptable plan. Republicans will lose all future elections if they do nothing on this issue. We need a Republican president to accomplish border closing and we will never get one if we do not work with Hispanics on this issue.

The polls indicated that the hispanic voter voted for the Dem’s for their entitlements – not immigration.

This former life long Chicago Dem realizes that George Bush could have sealed the border after 9-11 but did not.

I’m in a border state that’s wide open and we are the only country without border control – it’s got to stop.

Pat Chandler– Do you really think that the Illegals will EVER vote tor the Repubs?? Get real!! They are gonna ALWAYS vote for the freebies. E-verify WILL send ’em home on THEIR dime. No jobs=bye-bye. As I posted above, let’s put our 23M un-employed back to work!!! What’s the matter?? Don’t you like Americans!!

Please, some sanity would be nice! Ted Cruz is right, and if Rubio has jumped on RINO John McLame’s bandwagon, then he is just plain WRONG! It is wrong to punish people who follow the rule of law, who get on the legal path to citizenship, by allowing others to come illegally and step in front of those who are here legally. If they arrive illegally, then everything they do afterwards is illegal!!! In truth, this punishes us all, for we have squandered billions and billions of dollars on these people who are draining us dry. This is what oBlamer wants, though, to crush American citizens under the ever-increasing burden of more and more freeloaders. And the freeloaders will always support the one who promises the most (that would always be the democRAT), whether he delivers or not.

I am tired of the media telling us what to think and the establishment choosing our candidates. Ted Cruz and Mike Lee deserve a lot of credit for taking a stand opposing this plan. When it involves liberal Republicans and liberal dems, you KNOW it won’t be good for the country. These unholy alliances are killing our party. Glen Beck said today that he is advocating for a “second party” (as opposed to a third party) because the Republicans have become just an extension of the democrat party! AMEN! Be conservative, get back to our Constitutional principles, or our party is dead!

I’m with TED… I expect no difference from Rubio whose parents came under a Visa in 1956 and stayed as illegal aliens and were still Cuban Citizens in 1971 when Marco became their Anchor baby. Yes, close the Loop holes, but I’m still waiting for the increased security promised in 1986… Its not going to happen while the Bankers want cheap Labor and the Democrats want the Socialist voters and enough burdens on society to collapse it. Hang on to your shorts as they dilute the Dollar and give away what little wealth remains. Its nothing less than criminal.
