Occupy Has Its Wealth Redistributed, Not Happy Campers

By Javier Manjarres

This week’s annual Netroots nation gathering in New England brought out people from all walks of life-Conservatives, Liberals, Republicans, Democrats, and everyone’s favorite crazies, the Occupy Movement.

Occupy Providence was railing against the now infamous 1%, no news here.  But a couple of interesting things transpired during the Netroots gathering, the first being that the Daily Kos sponsored event in Providence kept the Occupy movement from participating in the festivities. Apparently, the Occupy movement, whom President Obama has given his blessing to, was not welcome and decided to protest just outside of the convention center where theNetroots convention was taking place.

Secondly, it was interesting to see the Occupiers selling buttons, bumperstickers and other chochkies in an effort raise money for their cause, whatever that cause might be. I guess evil capitalism has managed to infiltrate the Occupy movement.

To further confuse everyone that has followed Occupy’s evolution, one of their organizers was railing against the hotel business for, according to him, “stealing” their money. Apparently, this organizer works for one of the local hotels and  is upset that his boss is “redistributing” his wealth.

But isn’t this what Occupy is all about, the redistrubution of ‘all’ wealth to level the playing field, making everyone equal? Isn’t this what President Obama supports as well? Someone needs to call President Obama and tell him about this injustice. Needless to say, these Occupiers were not ‘happy campers’.

They are redistributing our wealth of the 99% to the manager’s wealth… We are against manager’s stealing our wealth and taking for themselves- “Joe”, Occupy Providence
