One seat Democrats were hoping to win, but not expecting to, is Rep. Vern Buchanan’s solid red seat in Sarasota, Florida.Buchanan is facing Democrat David Shapiro, who at this juncture in the race is running nine points behind among likely voters in the latest University of North Florida poll.
