Andrew Pollack, father of Meadow Pollack who sadly passed away during the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in February, is slamming Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum for taking a donation from controversial Broward Sheriff Scott Israel.
A report from the Sun-Sentinel informed that Sheriff Israel is one of a group of politicians from Broward that will be fundraising for Gillum on Friday in Fort Lauderdale.
In response to the news, Andrew Pollack released a statement through the Republican Party of Florida where he criticized Sheriff Israel for being partially to blame for his daughter’s untimely death because of Israel’s lack of “leadership”.
In the statement, Pollack argued that “It is absolutely disgraceful that Andrew Gillum would campaign with Sheriff Israel. Gillum is siding with Sheriff Israel above the interests of our students and citizens, making our schools and communities less safe. We need to elect Ron DeSantis so people like Sheriff Israel can be held accountable and removed from office.”
Gillum and his campaign have not responded to Pollack’s statement on the issue, and Sheriff Israel has not responded either.
After the shooting, Pollack emerged as of the more outspoken parents, criticizing the lack of leadership in response to the tragic event.
