Senator Marco Rubio had some fun with his Democratic colleague Sen. Cory Booker his past weekend. Booker as you know famously stated at the Kavanaugh confirmation hearings that he came close to have a “Spartacus’ moment.”
At the risk of being booted from the senate, said Booker he would release confidential emails. Booker failed to mention that those very same emails were already approved for release. Booker was just grandstanding.“This is about the closest I’ll probably ever have in my life to an ‘I am Spartacus’ moment.”-Sen. Cory Booker (D)
Her is Rubio’s swipe at Booker. Too funny.
On this day in 71B.C. the Thracian gladiator Spartacus was put to death by Marcus Licinius Crassus for disclosing confidential scrolls. When informed days later that in fact the Roman Senate had already publicly released the scrolls, Crassus replied “Oh, ok, my bad”.
