In his congressional bid, Ross Spano now finds himself embroiled in controversy as a mailer sent to homes implies that Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd has endorsed him.
The mailer shows a quote saying that “Ross Spano is a hero in my eyes,” but Grady Judd says that he has not endorsed Spano. In fact, Judd said that he refused to endorsed Spano because Spano voted no on the school safety bill.In response to the mailer, Sheriff Judd said “I’m fired up about it.”
He commented on the bill that Spano would eventually vote no on, saying that “There was something in that bill for everyone not to like, but at the end of the day I supported it for the sake of the children.”
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
And, concerning Spano’s vote, Judd explains that “I told him, ‘You cast a political vote.’ You’re saying, ‘My political future’s more important than keeping the children safe.'”
Judd explained that the mailer does a disservice to voters because it “clearly gives the indication I have endorsed him. He’s misleading the voters, misleading the community. That’s not who we need in Congress, somebody that will mislead.”
Spano is a member of the State House, and he is looking to replace Dennis Ross in U.S. House District 15’s seat.
