Aside from receiving the high-profile endorsement of President Donald Trump through a tweet, Representative Matt Gaetz has just received another high-profile endorsement in the political world from the National Rifle Association.
Gaetz has earned an A+ rating from the association for the past 8 years, and he responded to the endorsement by saying that “The Second Amendment is foundational to American life. From the beginning of our nation, Americans have clung tightly to their right to keep and bear arms. I do the same. I’m honored to accept the endorsement from the NRA, and I consider it my duty to ensure our Second Amendment rights shall not be infringed. The people of Northwest Florida can always depend on me to keep fighting tirelessly for our constitutional right to keep and bear arms.”
Gaetz is famous for fighting to make sure that “not one damn comma” of the sunshine state’s Stand Your Ground Law was repealed, and as his NRA rating shows he is a strong supporter of the second amendment.
He was elected to the Florida House in 2010, and he is currently running a reelection bid against Chris Dosev and John Mills. The Republican primary will be held on August 28th.
