Congressman Ron DeSantis has received the endorsement of the American Conservative Union right before he’s set to campaign with President Trump in Tampa.
As he surges in the poll against his opponent, Florida Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam, DeSantis has just added the support of one of the most influential conservative advocacy groups in the political arena.
At a rally Friday in Solivita, American Conservative Union Chair Matt Schlapp announced that the group was was endorsing the Congressman, and Schlapp also detailed why they were supporting him in his bid to replace term-limited Florida Governor Rick Scott.
In a statement, Schlapp detailed that “Ron DeSantis is a conservative warrior with a proven record of leadership. He’s served our nation in Iraq, fought for conservative principles in Congress and I know he’ll be a great governor for Florida.”
The group is responsible for the Conservative Political Action Conference where many conservative figures, both lawmakers and media personalities, take the stage and discuss their views on the changing political landscape.
As mentioned earlier, President Trump is set to campaign with Congressman DeSantis in Tampa. The President will be emphasizing his endorsement of not only DeSantis but Governor Scott and Representative Matt Gaetz as well.
