As expected, it seems that President Trump is going to be hitting the campaign trail again in Florida’s political arena. However, this time, President Trump will be campaigning for his choice in Florida’s gubernatorial race – Congressman Ron DeSantis.
After finally officially endorsing him in a tweet last month, Congressman DeSantis has surged in the polls and has campaigned with the likes of Mark Levin and Donald Trump Jr along with other big names in politics.
But, on July 31st in Tampa, the President will be hosting a rally in support of Congressman DeSantis according to the Tampa Bay Times.
The rally is scheduled to take place at the Florida State Fairgrounds, and it will begin at 7:00 p.m. At the rally, President Trump is also expected to voice his support of Governor Rick Scott in his Senate bid and Representative Matt Gaetz in his reelection bid. All are candidates that have good relationships with the President.
While the endorsement has seen DeSantis’ polls surge to a double digit lead over his opponent Florida Agricultural Commissioner Adam Putnam, Florida Democratic Party Spokesman Kevin Donohoe said in a prepared statement that he sends his “condolences to Adam Putnam.”
President Donald Trump carried the state of Florida in the 2016 Presidential election.
