The 2018 Republican primary race to replace Gov Rick Scott is well underway, as AG Commissioner and Rep. Ron DeSantis continue to motor around the state looking to garner as much support from the grassroots base of the GOP.
As expected, the race has gotten a bit dicey, especially after Putnam called DeSantis a “Washington insider.” DeSantis didn’t immediately fire back at Putnam but did say that he would keep his political baseballs shagged until the right time.“At some point, when I get a few runners on base, I think that’s a hanging curveball. So, I am going to wait till I get a few runners on base, and I am going to hit that one in the upper deck at the appropriate time.”-Floridian Press
Last weekend in Fort Lauderdale, Putnam took another jab at DeSantis when me stated that his “Florida-centric” campaign was not like DeSantis’ “dial it in” and “long distance” Washington-based gubernatorial campaign.

You can’t do it from a studio. You have to be present in Florida. You have to know Florida’s communities and know Florida’s problems and have Florida-based solutions. I think he is running a Washington-centric campaign, and we are running a Florida First campaign.”-AG Commissioner Adam Putnam
Expect this Republican slugfest to go the distance.
