With House Speaker Richard Corcoran deciding not to seek the Republican nomination for governor of Florida, AG Commissioner Adam Putnam and Rep. Ron DeSantis are the last men standing.
It goes without saying that Putnam comes off as more polished, while DeSantis sounds more off-the-cuff.
Both DeSantis and Putnam have raised big money in their race, and both enjoy a fair amount of grassroots support, but most importantly, the two have congressional voting records.
While grassroots conservatives point to Putnam’s “moderate” voting record during his stint in Washington, could the Trump-endorsed DeSantis’ and his center-right leaning bona fides spook the GOP establishment class or moderate Republicans over to Putnam?
