Florida Governor Rick Scott is echoing what he first told the Shark Tank a couple months ago about prohibiting Florida from doing business with Venezuela’s Chavista regime.
“Floridians stand with the people of Venezuela as they fight for their freedom, and as a state, we must not provide any support for Maduro and his thugs…On Venezuela Independence Day, we stand in solidarity with the opposition to the brutal Maduro regime, whose crimes against his own people continue daily.”-Gov. Rick Scott
As usual, Scott did not say exactly how he was going to go about this move, rather deferring to next month’s cabinet meeting as the time and place where he would release more details about his intentions.
In an exclusive interview with the Shark Tank back on May 30, Gov. Scott stated, “We clearly have to stop doing business with a country that is killing peaceful protesters.”
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
We also pressed him on when he would announce his 2018 senatorial bid, but of course, Scott kept those details close to the vest, not even hinting at a possible run.
Scott, who is being courted by President Trump run for the U.S. Senate, is expected to challenge incumbent Senator Bill Nelson (D).
