On June 14th the Florida Commission on Ethics released a press release stating they found no probable cause in regards to the allegations Clay County School Board Member’s Janice Kerekes and Carol Studdard and former Keystone Heights High School Principal Susan Sailor made against former School Superintendent Charlie Van Zant.
The Florida Commission on Ethics stated:In a complaint filed against Clay County Superintendent of Schools CHARLES VAN ZANT, JR., the Commission found no probable cause to believe he misused public resources to receive a certification that resulted in a salary increase. Similarly, the Commission found no probable cause to believe that he disclosed or used information not available to the general public and gained from his public position to secure a gain or benefit for himself.
This is not the first time Kerekes has made allegations at taxpayers expense against Mr. Van Zant. Back in 2013 she launched an investigation claiming Van Zant misused his position and taxpayer resources in helping secure the Thrasher Horne Center to promote an American History Conference. After months of negative press the Commission on Ethics found once again there was no probable cause that Superintendent Van Zant did anything outside of the proper duties of his office. Seeing that Kerekes’s behavior is seemingly habitual one is left to ask does she really has parents and taxpayers in mind or is she just using her seat as a platform to carry out personal vendettas by making up false accusations.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
It has been confirmed Kerekes and Studdard might be facing an investigation in the near future in regards to why they did not follow proper Clay County School Board Policy which states all matters of employee misconduct should be reported to the Assistant Superintendent for human resources, and be keep confidential until a full investigation is completed and the results reported to the school board.
Commissioner Gavin Rollins had the following to say about the outcome of the investigation on Facebook:
I never doubted this outcome for a moment but now it’s official!!! The accusations made were clearly politically motivated, intended to sway the election, now they’ve been officially proven false!
