Senator Marco Rubio has been busy in the Senate since the conclusion of the 2016 Presidential election. At first, it was unlikely for him to return with him stating that he would go back to being a private citizen. Ultimately, this proved to not be the case.
In an exclusive interview, we asked him if we’d ever hear him being called “Governor Rubio,” but he quickly shot down the idea, saying that “six years from now I’ll either be running for reelection for the senate or doing something different.” He made it clear that he had no intention of running for Governor. When asked about the impending Florida Governor race and the idea of Senator Bill Nelson running for office, he simply explained that “the time for politics will come,” but that “right now we’re in governing mode” because “we’re trying to do the right things for Florida,” and “the right things for America.”
Whether or not Senator Rubio will ever run for Governor, time will tell. But, one thing voters can be certain of, they can’t blame the Senator for focusing on doing the job he was elected to do.
