Washington, D.C.– Senator Ted Cruz (R), who sits on the Senate Judiciary Committee that is tasked to confirm Judge Neil Gorsuch to the US Supreme Court, believes that the line of questioning Senate Democrats have taken in the hearings is to appease their “liberal base” of support.
Cruz believes that based on merits alone, Gorsuch’s confirmation should be a unanimous vote of 100-1, adding that what Americans are seeing from Senate Democrats is nothing less than “political theatre” to “impress their base.”I think the Democrats are trying very hard to manufacture attacks because their liberal base is very angry and demand that they attack him.-Sen. Ted Cruz (R)
Cruz’s colleague in the Senate, Senator Chuck Grassley (R) said that Senate Democrats are “doing what they said they were going to do” but are “coming up short” in their efforts.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
When we asked him how his relationship was with President Trump, Cruz said that he has been working everyday with the President on the American Health Care Act and to repeal Obamacare.
Cruz also said that while attending a Club for Growth weekend retreat in Palm Beach, Florida, he spent three hours working with the Trump Administration on repealing and replacing Obamacare at the “Winter White House,” Mar-A-Lago.
On the House version of the American Health Care Act, Cruz doesn’t believe “we are their yet,” and would not vote in favor of the legislation, if the vote was held today.I have serious concerns with the House bill as it is currently drafted.
