Florida Congressman Carlos Curbelo (R) discussed climate change and changes to the Health Care Act with the Shark Tank’s Javier Manjarres on Tuesday.
Curbelo said:We are trying to encourage bipartisan cooperation on this issue of climate change and rising sea levels. I think anyone who lives near the ocean and that means any of us who live in South Florida especially my constituents in the Florida Keys have to paying at least some attention to this issue and what we want to do is come up with common sense solutions to promote clean water.
Whereas Curbelo is one of the few Republicans who believe in climate change he is not the only one and he has a history of supporting changes to reduce climate change. Other Republicans would consider the measures similar to Chicken Little who always thought the world was coming to an end.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
Curbelo insists climate change is “real” and that we need to “come up with conservative solutions to promote clean industry.”
When it comes to the new health care bill, Curbelo said:
I am very encouraged by some of the improvements that were made to the bill thru the managers amendment. We are trying to create a patient centered health care system where the American consumer becomes an ally in containing and reducing the cost of healthcare. At the same time we want to take care of the most vulnerable.
He continued to say he wants to see that the consumers are driving the cost of the healthcare and that the most vulnerable patients are being taken care of.
When it comes to allowing people to purchase plans across state lines Curbelo supports it but is not sure if it will pass in the Senate.
