One contenders for the Republican nomination in the 2016 Presidential election, now President Trump and Florida Senator Marco Rubio are poised to work together in order to ensure that the changes the American people voted for are done. Today, at 6:30 in the White House’s blue room, the Trumps will host the Rubios as President Trump continues to meet with lawmakers. However, this is the first one-on-one dinner, including wives, that has been scheduled with Trump and a lawmaker.
In an interview with Gannett, Marco Rubio was asked what would be discussed in the private Wednesday dinner with the President, but Rubio did not disclose any information. He said that he wouldn’t make the contents of the dinner public because “whatever we discuss, I’m not going to tell you.”
The dinner comes at a time when the spotlight is on relations between Russia and the United States, and Rubio is part of the Intelligence Committee that will undergo a probe into the matter.
While Rubio was heavily critical of President Donald Trump during the campaign season, he’s taken a lighter approach upon being reelected to the Senate. He grilled Rex Tillerson during his secretary of state hearing and voted in favor as well.
