Today, Pastor Gary Johnson met with Marco Rubio and Senator Tim Scott in Overtown. Pastor Johnson talked about Rubio’s involvement in his community and how he’s contributed towards criminal justice reform, and he also applauded Tim Scott and Rubio for wanting to tackle economic reform to help people that, in today’s political climate, he feels “poor people don’t seem to exist.”
When commenting on Rubio, he continued by saying that “I’m honored to be a friend of his as well as a supporter of Senator Rubio simply because it’s about doing the work; it’s about getting things done. So, as Dr. King would say, you can get lost in the rhetoric, but then you have to get to the facts. The fact of the matter is that his proven leadership has been proven to do what needs to be done for the people of Florida.”
