The election season conversation has since shifted to the importance of the Senate and Congressional races. After the last debate between Senator Marco Rubio (R) and Patrick Murphy (D), Blaise Ingoglia, the Republican Party of Florida Chairman, was interviewed last night by us and asked about his thoughts on the Senate race, the Presidential race and how both affect each other.
“When we go into these elections, we do not go into these elections planning on losing any seats,” he said, commenting on the Murphy/Rubio debate shortly after it ended. “And that comes from the Presidency to the US Senate all the way down to city council. We are fighting for every seat from the top of the ticket to the bottom of the ticket. Senator Rubio is doing what he needs to do in order to win his election and, at the end of the day, he will.You’ve seen it tonight that Patrick Murphy clearly isn’t ready. In fact, I felt a little bad for Patrick Murphy. He was outclassed, outsmarted, outwitted tonight. He has nothing to back up anything he’s ever done. He spent four years in Congress and has nothing to show for it. At least Senator Rubio has a list of accomplishments that he can point to.

One outcome that can play out is Hillary Clinton winning the state of Florida on November 8th, but Ingoglia is confident that Trump will win the state, and he says that one race doesn’t particularly affect the other in such a way.
He says that “the polls have had Senator Rubio consistently up, and there’s a reason for that. It’s because the people of Florida know that Marco Rubio is gonna stand up for Floridians. He’s gonna go in and fight the big government agenda, and they know that. So, we’re expecting Marco to win by a good margin as a reward for the things he’s done in the US senate.”
Ingoglia also added that “from a technical standpoint, when you’re looking at political strategy, when you look at the ticket, Donald Trump is strong in some areas and then Marco is strong in some areas, so what they do is they compliment each other very well on the ticket.”In a Bloomberg Politics poll released yesterday, Donald Trump was leading Hillary Clinton by two points with 45% and 43%, and Marco Rubio currently has a commanding lead over Patrick Murphy with 47% and 43.4%.
