Miami Marlin’s star pitcher, Jose Fernandez, 24, died early Sunday morning in a boating accident off Government Cut. Fernandez and two others apparently had a “severe impact” with a jetty that caused the boat to capsize.
According to the Associated Press, the Coast Guard patrolling the are was the first to spot the capsized vessel at around 3:30am. Fernandez’s and the others were found moments later.
