The White House is planning on increasing the number of refugees accepted by the United States from around the world to at least 110,000 in 2017 according to CNN.
Secretary of State John Kerry briefed Congress on Tuesday about the decision and he told them the United States might even welcome more refugees then that.
The increase is more than 57 percent then the original amount stated in 2015 and it is consistent with the current administration’s belief that all countries should do more to help vulnerable people.
