After traveling to Mexico and meeting with President Enrique Pena Nieto, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump flew back to the United States to give his long-awaited immigration reform speech. Trump gave the speech in Arizona, ground zero for illegal immigration.
Trump as you know, has caught considerable flack for his controversial statements (yet accurate) about Mexicans when first announced he was running for president. While he isn’t walking those remarks back, he isn’t repeating them.Trump doubled-down on his pledge to build a border wall, and to have Mexico pay for it. Earlier in the day, President Nieto tweeted that he told Trump that his country would not pay for any wall constructed along the U.S.-Mexico border.
Here is a highlight of Trump’s immigration speech.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
Some points Trump made during his speech:
“Anyone who is in the United States illegally is subject to deportation.”“Mexico will pay for the wall. 100%. They don’t know it yet, but they’re going to pay for the wall.”
“Maybe they’ll be able to deport her.” (Talking about Hillary Clinton)
“It’s our right as a sovereign nation to choose immigrants that we think are the likeliest to thrive and flourish and love us.”
“Within ICE I’m going to create a new special deportation task force.”
“If we can save American lives, American jobs and American futures, together we can save America itself.”“Anyone who tells you the core issue is the needs of those living here illegally has simply spent too much time in Washington.”
