Republican-turned-Independent-turned Democrat, Charlie Crist, is the arguably the king of the political issue flip flop. Now Crist may have some competition from a fellow Democrat, as the daily political soap opera better known as the Democratic primary race in Florida’s 23rd congressional continues.

The Bernie Sanders-backed college professor has managed to upset two of his opponent’s (Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz) congressional colleagues and supporters, Reps. Lois Frankel (D) and Ted Deutch (D).
Canova used their names in a campaign mailer, a mve that did not go over well with two of the three members of south Florida’s “Jewish Triad.”

“It was wrong of him to do that…I am an ardent Debbie Wasserman Schultz supporter. I have known her since she was out of college, and in Congress, I talk to her every single day. And no one should ever question her commitment to the security of Israel.”
Rep. Ted Deutch-
“He knows that I endorsed Debbie, and that alone would be reason to stop using my name in his campaign materials…But the bigger issue is that he sent out a campaign flyer that says he would have voted one way in the deal, the way that I voted, only to then say that he’s not sure how he would have voted. And that is just something that I resent.”

Rep. Deutsch is calling him out on it.
Like Deutch says, Canova’s mailer states that he would have voted against the deal. But now it seems as if Canova has had a change of heart.This is what Canova recently said about the Iran deal:
“I’m not so sure that’s accurate. Look, I’m not going to, sort of, play that game. I don’t know exactly how I would have voted for it because I wasn’t sitting in that seat.”
Regardless of how much money he has raised, Canova faces an uphill challenge in defeating ‘DWS’ in a district where there are so many of those jewish “bubbas” that still see her as their “little Debbie.”
