While Senator Marco Rubio is all but ignoring his Republican senatorial primary opponent Carlos Beruff, Beruff is relentlessly trying to chip away at Rubio’s popularity among Republicans by labeling him as a typical Washington insider candidate, who should not be trusted again to carry out his duties as senator for another term in office.
Now Beruff is calling Rubio a liar, saying that the Florida Senator is using his “Washington allies” to do his dirty work for him.“Washington’s candidate Marco Rubio continues to lie about me and about his record, hiding behind his Washington allies of course. It’s no surprise considering integrity is clearly not an important quality to Senator Rubio, who lied to the people of Florida about amnesty, lied about his support for Donald Trump and lied about his promise to not run for reelection.
“And now Marco Rubio is ducking debates, afraid to answer for his record face to face. It’s common in Washington to pass the buck and hide from a challenge, but the people of Florida deserve a Senator who’s not afraid to take a stand. My message to Marco is simple: man up.”

Beruff is most likely referring to the latest attack ad by Florida First PAC, a political action committee that supports Rubio’s reelection, and has painted Beruff as a “Charlie Crist Republican” for his past support of the Republican-turned-Independent-turned-Democrat former governor of Florida.

Florida’s primary election is on August 30th, and Rubio holds a commanding lead over Beruff.
