On Sunday morning 50 innocent people lost their lives at the hands of a man the FBI is suggesting was a terrorist. The shooter has since been identified as Omar Mateen.

Mateen is a 29-year-old US citizen of Afghan descent and according to US TV networks he had ties to Islamist extremism.

Mateen carried a device thought to be a bomb and was armed with an assault weapon and handgun when he opened fire on the innocent victims in the Pulse Orlando bar in the early hours of Sunday morning. Then he started to take hostages and was involved in a three-hour stand off with officers before SWAT teams stormed the building killing him.

This morning Florida witnessed the most deadliest mass shooting in US history.

Authorities are alluding it was a terrorist attack and it is my belief regardless of your color, religion and sexual preference you should not be gunned down for a radical ideology that has no place in modern society.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all involved and to their families. If elected as your next state attorney, I promise I will do all I can within my power to stop these horrendous attacks on innocent people.
