With the Florida primary race far back in our rear view mirrors, Floridians can now start paying attention to the important federal races that could tip the balance of power in Washington, D.C.
After Senator Rubio decided to leave his U.S. Senate seat to run for president, it cause a huge vacuum that has Democrat’s salivating over possibly picking up a once-considered safe GOP Senate seat. While Reps. Alan Grayson and Patrick Murphy duke it out in what will be a nasty Democratic primary race, Republicans vying to replace Rubio are having a tough time moving the political needle in their favor, as they struggle to make their names household ones.
The Republican senatorial candidates are: Carlos Beruff, Todd Wilcox, Reps. Ron DeSantis and David Jolly (pictured), and Lt. Governor Carlos Lopez-Cantera.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
DeSantis and Jolly are considered the frontrunners because of either money raised, endorsements garnered, or recent polling that have them leading the field of candidates.
With that said, there is still room for the others to makes gains in this crowded primary race.
Lopez-Cantera has been quietly trailblazing around the state solidifying grassroots support, and has just announced that he scored the endorsement of the Florida Speaker of the House, Steve Crisafulli. Here is what Crisafulli said about Lopez-Cantera:
“I am proud to endorse Carlos Lopez-Cantera for U.S. Senate. My choice in this important race is not based on politics, but on a desire to have authentic and effective representation in Washington. We need action, not more empty promises. Working with Carlos over the years, I have been able to see first-hand his focused leadership. Carlos has a fire and drive that is greatly needed in Washington. I look forward to doing all I can to support his campaign.”
Again, because the Republican senatorial candidates are having a tough time breaking away from the pack this late in season, I sadly say that the Democrats could have the advantage in winning Rubio’s senate seat.
Which Republican is going to step up?
