Just as it appears that Donald Trump will be the Republican presidential nominee in 2016, Senator Ted Cruz is surging, and could give Trump a run for his dinero in the coming nationwide primary elections. The latest Fox News poll of likely Republican voters has Cruz significantly cutting into Trump’s nationwide lead.
Trump only leads Cruz by a margin of 41-38 in the Fox News Poll, but this poll could help sway many establishment and fence-sitting Republicans to come out and vote for the freshman Senator from Texas, and not for the billionaire developer.
After months of calling him a “Whacko Bird” and an “obstructionist,” the “establishment” faction of the Republican Party has warmed up to Ted Cruz, and now former Florida Governor, Jeb Bush, has become latest “establishment” politician to back Cruz over Trump.
It goes without saying that there isn’t any love lost between Trump and Bush. None.
While Trump’s nationwide lead in the Realclearpolitics.com average of polls has dropped to 12.3 percent, his presidential campaign’s forward momentum is unquestionable. Both men have a pathway to victory, but while Trump’s road to the GOP’s nomination for president seems a lot clearer, it is not etched in stone, yet.
