On Thursday Senate Republican Jack Latvala (Clearwater, R), filed bill SB 1462.
The bill calls for offering high-school elective courses that focus on life skills. Those life skills would range from developing job-interview skills to managing stress.
As reported by News4Jax, Latvala said it would direct the education commissioner to develop an elective “that addresses skills and character development not included in rigorous academic courses.”
Some of the issues that would be addressed in the elective would be leadership skills, organization skills, research skills and creating resumes.
