Billionaire Donald Trump continues to dominate the field of 2016 Republican presidential candidates, as the latest Fox News poll conducted in South Carolina, has him leading with 35 percent support, with Ben Carson, Ted Cruz, and Marco Rubio locked in a dead heat for second place with about 15 percent support.
The poll was conducted shortly after Trump made his controversial Muslim statement, but while many politicos and talking heads believed that he would suffer in future polls because of the remark, the poll results show that South Carolinians support his ban of all Muslims from entering the country,Appearing this morning via telephone on Fox News’ “Fox and Friends”, Trump announced that he had cancelled his trip to Israel, saying that he simply post-poned the meeting, and it wasn’t because of his controversial Muslim statement that Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu thought was off-color.
Trump was asked if he would keep his promise of not running as third party candidate, prompting him to say that he would “run as a Republican,” but had “lots of options open” if the Republican establishment turned against him.
