On Friday the Florida Prayer Network sent an open letter stating there will not be a Nativity display at Florida’s state capitol this year.
The president of Florida Prayer Network, Pam Olsen said with all of the mass shootings that occurred this year they decided they wanted the true meaning of Christmas that “The Son of God, born in manger so long ago in Bethlehem” to be heard very clearly and not to be drowned out by fighting over a nativity scene at the capitol. She went on to say:
This is not the year for that kind of debate in our rotunda! We pray that Christ’s message of hope and peace will be communicated in a much stronger way this year from Florida’s State capitol, by us NOT placing the Nativity in the rotunda.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
Last year the nativity scene at the capitol was vandalized. The atheist’s anti-Christmas scene was vandalized as well and it has been an ongoing religious battle if the nativity scene should be allowed at the capitol. Florida Prayer Network ended that debate by opting not to putting up the nativity scene this year.
Was it the right decision? That is up to you to decide.
