The controversial decision by the Palm Beach County Commission to tackle President Obama’s immigration reform executive actions by holding a hearing to consider a resolution that would support the president’s play, came to pass on Tuesday.
After seeing how much descent there was in the room from opposing the measure to back Obama’s immigration position, the commission made the smart and safe decision to “table,” or avoid taking a position against or in favor of Obama’s executive orders supporting illegal immigrants.Detractors of Obama’s position on immigration questioned the commission as to why they were even taking up a federal issue.
Why was this even brought up?

Commissioners Melissa McKinlay and Priscilla Taylor, who are both running for the U.S. Congress in Florida’s 18th congressional district, may have helped influence this move to entertain the federal immigration issue.
McKinlay stayed quite throughout the meeting until one of the pro-amnesty for illegal immigrant attendees brought up twenty or so children to the podium.
For whatever reason, McKinlay asked all of the children to step up to the microphone and state their ages. Why?
One attendee speculated that McKinlay asked the children state their ages because she wanted to look compassionate for their situation, and supportive of Obama’s immigration executive actions, without having commit herself on the issue.
Two of McKinlay and Taylor’s Republican congressional candidates were also in attendance. Both Brian Mast and Paul Spain sat in on the entire meeting, leaving shortly after it concluded.
Neither of them commented on commission’s decision to table the measure.
