A Domino’s Pizza delivery driver who was approached by two armed men on the job was likely thankful that he had his own gun to fight off the would-be attackers.
It happened Saturday in Jacksonville, Florida, when police say the driver was out delivering and two men confronted him with a gun and demanded money. But the driver wasn’t about to let the would-be robbers make him a victim, so he pulled out his own gun and shot one of them, WJAX-TV reported.Domino’s spokesman Tim McIntyre told TheBlaze that while the company prefers that drivers do not carry weapons Florida state law supersedes any company’s policy.
“In this case, the employee of the independently owned franchise has a concealed carry permit and was not charged with anything. We’re simply grateful that he was unharmed,” McIntyre said.

Crime and safety expert Ken Jefferson told WJAX-TV that the incident was an act of self-defense and that the delivery driver was totally in the right to protect himself with the gun he had.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Department said the suspect who was shot was in serious condition. It was not clear whether the second suspect, who was not shot, was arrested.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment from TheBlaze.(H/T The Blaze)
